Consumer court slaps fine on DHL for negligence, failing to deliver parcel not delivering the item

Terming it as a clear case of deficiency in service, the Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has fined a private courier service for its negligence in delivering a parcel containing a demand draft to the Arizona University. The court found that DHL Express Indian Private Limited did not even inform the complainant regarding the non-delivery of the booked parcel due to which she had to face harassment and go through mental agony. "The OP (DHL) did not inform the complainant regarding non-delivery of the booked article due to which she had to face mental agony and tension as the fees was not received by the college on time. It is a clear cut case of deficiency in service and unfair trade practice on the part of the OP," the court said.
